Terms of Service
1. Service Use
LumaTutor is an online tutoring and practice service for parents and students.
The service may include reading practice, writing practice, AI-generated feedback, progress reports, saved vocabulary, parent dashboards, and related account tools.
You may use LumaTutor only for lawful educational purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
2. Parent or Guardian as Account Holder
A parent or legal guardian must create and manage the family account.
The parent account holder is responsible for billing, credits, student profiles, student login credentials, and supervising student use.
By creating a child profile, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or that you have authority to provide consent for the child's use of the service.
3. Student Accounts
Students sign in with a student code and PIN created by the parent account holder.
Student accounts are intended for educational use under parent or guardian supervision.
Parents should keep student codes and PINs secure and should not share them outside the family or authorized learning setting.
4. Credits and Expiration
LumaTutor uses credits for eligible tutoring and practice sessions. Credit costs may vary by feature or session type.
Reading sessions currently use a fixed credit cost. Goal time affects pacing and timer display, not the credit charge.
Credits added by purchase, subscription grant, admin grant, or restored lesson credit expire 12 months after they are added unless we state otherwise in writing.
Credits are not cash, are not stored value, and may be used only within LumaTutor.
5. Credit Charges, Failed Sessions, and Restored Credits
Credits may be charged when a tutoring session starts or when a paid feature is used.
If a session fails because of a confirmed system, billing, or tutor-service issue, LumaTutor may restore credits after review.
Credits are not restored for ordinary student inactivity, closing the browser, network issues outside our control, or incomplete work unless we determine that a service issue caused the failure.
6. Subscriptions and Automatic Renewal
Subscription plans renew monthly unless canceled before the next renewal date.
Plan prices are listed before applicable taxes unless the checkout page states otherwise.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. LumaTutor does not store full card numbers.
You can manage cancellation by contacting support or by using the account tools we provide. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund prior payments.
7. Refund Policy
Refund requests for credit purchases or subscription payments are reviewed only within 30 days of the payment date.
Payments older than 30 days are not refundable, except where required by law.
Used credits, expired credits, and partially used subscription periods are not refundable unless required by law or approved by LumaTutor after review.
8. AI Tutoring and Results
LumaTutor uses AI systems to provide feedback, hints, scoring, vocabulary explanations, and learning support.
AI feedback and scores are educational guidance, not a guarantee of school grades, test scores, admissions outcomes, or academic improvement.
AI output may be incomplete or incorrect. Parents and students should use judgment and review important work independently.
9. Acceptable Use
You may not disrupt the service, attempt to access another user's account, misuse student login credentials, reverse engineer the service, submit harmful content, or use automated tools to overload the system.
We may pause, suspend, or terminate access when needed to protect students, users, the service, or payment integrity.
10. Content and Learning Materials
LumaTutor may provide original passages, questions, prompts, explanations, and learning materials.
Students and parents may submit answers, writing, notes, highlights, and other learning content. You grant LumaTutor permission to use that content to provide, secure, evaluate, and improve the service.
Do not submit content you do not have the right to use.
11. Account Suspension or Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for policy violations, payment issues, security concerns, abuse, or legal requirements.
You may request account help or account closure by contacting support.
12. Service Availability and Changes
We work to keep LumaTutor reliable, but the service may be unavailable during maintenance, provider outages, network issues, or unexpected incidents.
We may change features, prices, credit policies, model providers, or supported modes as the product evolves. We will communicate material changes when practical.
13. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LumaTutor is provided without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or guaranteed educational outcomes.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LumaTutor and RYANELLA INC. are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws applicable to RYANELLA INC. and its business operations, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
This section should be reviewed by legal counsel before public launch.
